Each of our salons draws inspiration from the beautiful community that surrounds them. The same can be said for the bright and vibrant interior our youngest member of The Chapel family — our new Horsham salon. So if you’re planning your next trip to visit us in Horsham, don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. We’ve asked our Horsham stylists to give you the rundown of their favourite spots in town.

Pick-up produce at Horsham Farmer’s Market

An eclectic town, you can’t come to Horsham without visiting one of its famous markets. Stylist Mark Palmer particularly recommends taking a trip to the Horsham Farmer’s Market, which visits every Thursday and Sunday. With vendors selling everything from rustic, homemade sausages to organic groceries, and even vegan street food, there’s something here for everyone. Plus, the added bonus all produce comes from local farmers, which means you’ll be supporting small businesses in the community.

Catch a Show at The Capitol

For our Horsham stylists, there’s no better way to spend an autumn evening than catching a show at the Capitol Theatre. The theatre also doubles as a cinema, showing the latest blockbuster hits. With an eclectic mix of art, culture and comedy, there’s something on for everyone. This show season catches Sara Pascoe’s acclaimed comedy show Lads Lads Lads, the Russian National Balet’s production of Swan Lake or get the kids in the Christmas spirit with this year’s pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

Unwind at South Lodge Luxury Hotel & Spa

Take in breathtaking views of the South Downs as you sit swaddled in a soft white robe, sipping on a glass of prosecco. Sounds sublime? Our stylist Laura Williams thinks so too. Situated just outside of Horsham, The South Lodge is the perfect spot to retreat to after a hectic week for a weekend of rest and relaxation. Take a stroll around the 93-acre estate, grab a book and sink into a sofa by the sumptuous fire, or take a trip into the Cellar to try a few vintages. And with the South Lodge Spa set to open in early 2019, complete with a state-of-the-art gym, nail bar, thermal suite and indoor pools, we guarantee you’ll be making this a regular retreat.

Explore Tilgate Park Nature Centre

Perfect for family visits or even a first date, the Tilgate Nature Centre is at the top of stylist Hazel Skinner’s list. Situated a short 20-minute drive from Horsham, the centre houses over 100 different species of animal, from owls and otters to mongoose, parrots and pigs. For the kids, there are a number of experience days including ‘meet the meerkats’ and becoming a junior keeper for the day. And for those who want to care for the animals on a long-term basis, you can even choose to adopt one at the park.

Get your Sugar Fix at Chococo

Award-winning, artisan chocolatiers since 2002, Chococo a chocolate lover’s (and stylist Fern Bowler’s) haven. Indulge in a range of delectable chocolate treats, nibble on rich, dark chocolate, or create a luxury hamper to send out to family and friends this holiday season. They even sell a range of vegan, alcohol-free and nut-free delights, so you can be sure to get your sugar fix, whatever your needs. And in homely Horsham spirit, they’ve teamed up with a range of other local vendors including Cast Iron Roasters coffee and Sussex Ice Cream. Chocolate really does bring this community together.

Browse Designer Fashion at Dodie Stark

Situated in the historic and picturesque Market Square, this eclectic Horsham clothing store should be on every visitor’s list. With hand-selected pieces from a wide range of beautiful-yet-affordable brands across Europe, it's no wonder that this store is a firm favourite of Horsham stylist Laura Williams. With customer service inspired by the town’s welcoming charm, the store also offers a range of additional services such as alterations and personal shopping, to help you pick out the perfect pieces.

Stroll to the Lake at Southwater Country Park

Grab a picnic, a few cosy blankets and take the short forest stroll from Horsham town-centre to Southwater Country Park. With its serene setting, take a relaxing walk around the park and spend the afternoon looking out onto the lake. Take the kids to the Dino Park playground on a family day out, or find a secret spot in the woods for you and your other half to relax. Grab something to eat at the local cafe and as the day comes to an end, watch in perfect silence as the sun sets over the lake.

Pause at The Chapel

We couldn’t complete the list without mentioning our new Horsham Salon. Once an old chapel that stood in the community for over 150 years, we renovated the building, still leaving traces of the original builds history (and a few cracks) letting the character of the building shine through. This Horsham hairdressing salon is hugely spacious, with its classically-styled décor, is the perfect place to pause, relax and renew after a long day exploring the town.
